New Ulster Savings Bank Branch — Stone Ridge, New York
Construction of the new Ulster Savings Bank branch in Stone Ridge, Ulster County, New York is scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2026.The 4,000-square-foot facility has been thoughtfully designed as an ultra-energy-efficient building that prioritizes comfort, health, and long-term sustainability. Heating and cooling will be provided by a ground-source heat pump system (geothermal), paired with advanced energy-recovery ventilation to deliver a consistently comfortable and healthy indoor environment for both employees and customers.
The new branch reflects Ulster Savings Bank’s strong connection to the community. Interior spaces will include a large conference room available for community use, along with four private offices that provide welcoming, confidential spaces for customers to meet with bank representatives.
Site planning has been carefully considered to enhance both convenience and environmental stewardship. The branch will feature four drive-up lanes, including one with an integrated ATM. Stormwater will be managed through underground infiltration chambers designed to return rainwater naturally to the groundwater table. Exterior lighting will be fully dark-sky compliant, minimizing glare and reducing light spill into the night sky.
Looking toward the future, the building has been designed to accommodate a roof-mounted solar photovoltaic system and battery energy storage, supporting long-term energy resilience and reduced operational carbon impact.
Inside, traditional teller counters will be replaced with modern teller pods, creating a more personal and engaging customer experience while fostering direct interaction between banking staff and visitors.
