About the project...
We designed the restoration, preservation and repair of the roof and chimneys for this beautiful, historic, house located within the Stockade District of the City of Kingston, New York.
The stone section of the home was built in 1728. A large frame addition was constructed in the 19th century. The roof has many gables, chimneys and a complicated gutter system. The complexity and historical nature of the restoration work required a high level of care of craftsmanship.
We worked closely with the owners, and the team from the City of Kingston's Landmarks Preservation Commission, to make sure we recreated, and preserved, the architectural features of this lovely, historic home.
After completion, the owners of the house were given the Preservation Award from the Friends of Historic Kingston, who happen to be located near the home, for the roof repair.
The details of the roofs and chimneys were in very poor shape. The roof was leaking in multiple places prior to it's repair.
Be sure to visit Kingston and explore the beautiful historic sites! You may even learn about how the Delaware and Hudson Canal brought this city to life.
