Senior Project Manager

Architecture -  Senior Project Manager

Alfandre Architecture is a premier, leading, innovative, and highly successful architecture firm located in the heart of the Hudson Valley.  We are seeking to fill a key and immediate opening with a seasoned, talented and NYS licensed professional for our New Paltz, NY office. The ideal candidate will be a mirror image of our high-performance corporate characteristics and dedication to design quality from inception through completion of all projects with a personal passion for green and sustainability focus. This unique opportunity requires an individual who has a broad range of architecture experience, dedicated to providing clients with strong and creative architecture and construction designs. This is not a stand-alone position; the right person will need to be a strong team player whose focus is on the success of the entire team. This is a position for the candidate who is seeking to make Alfandre your home with growth potential to a partnership track.

Qualifications:

  • NYS licensed architect
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in architecture
  • 7-10 years architecture project management experience from inception through to completion of construction.
  • REVIT; 3 years minimum, full working knowledge.
  • AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Nutech, Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office; full working knowledge. Strong research skills required. Solid Works is a plus.
  • Commitment to green and sustainable designs; LEED working knowledge and design experience.
  • Able to work collaboratively with all team members to create designs, lead the preparation of construction documents, and the efficient integration of the work with sub-consultants through completion of the project.
  • Self-directed, extremely organized with the ability to focus on the task with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment, multi-task, delegate, plan, set goals, meet critical deadlines, be accurate and work under pressure.
  • Possess strong leadership, team building and conflict resolution/negotiation skills.
  • Solid technical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on construction experience is a plus.
  • Able to work closely with the client and present project through various stages with full confidence. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads in-house design team from initial consultation through design development and construction, including full documentation process.
  • Manage all phases of one or more projects. Direct the project team in the proper steps and procedures to complete the work as planned, budgeted, scheduled and in conformance with the intended design.
  • Oversee code compliance with applicable codes, standards and guidelines.  Direct and train project architects and interns relative to these.
  • Support project management with development of staffing, fee, budget estimating, and project scheduling.
    Plan, organize, and manage the work of the project team.
  • Communicate with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines to ensure project details are carried out, including technical issues and project information.
  • Ensure that production of construction documents are in concert with the design of the project.
  • Develop detailed project schedule and communicate key deliverable dates to project team.
  • Ensure project documentation complies with client contracts.
  • Responsible for maintaining client relationships throughout the project including keeping the client apprised of project on a regular basis.
  • Identify new business opportunities while developing current client relationships.
  • Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities
